I am glad that I have a hobby such as crochet.
During the past week or so, I have found it very helpful.
Working on my Around the Bases CAL, I have found that needing to concentrate on my stitch count has been almost meditative.
It has relaxed me.
I found myself just repeating my count in my head and it helped calm my brain and soul.
So, onto my ATB CAL update.
I am currently working on Inning 6.
I LOVED Inning 4 though!
I haven’t made star stitches before and am so glad I now know how. I love the look!
At the end of the inning however, I was off on my stitch count. So, I added one row of SC (pink color) to even out to 102 stitches per side.
This put me in Team B on Inning 5
I am now in the middle of Inning 6 and looking forward to Inning 7 (Cables!).
I did make a mistake in Inning 6. The pink BPSC is done in StyleCraft DK weight rather than WW, but it looks ok, so I kept it.
By the way, I LOVE my new Furls Odyssey Crochet Hook. I will certainly be purchasing additional sizes. I really noticed a difference doing my BPSC, the hook just glides and the weight of it made it so easy to do the back post stitches.
This project is a learning project (love learning new stitches) and the colors are picked randomly from my stash (picked for which ever skein has enough yarn for the row).
Inning 4:
KnitPIcks Brava & Willow Wash; Furls Crochet Hook 5mm
Inning 5:
Vanna’s Choice, Caron One Pound & KnitPicks Brava; Furls Crochet Hook 5mm
Inning 6:
RedHeart Soft, StyleCraft Special DK & Willow Wash; Furls Crochet Hook 5mm

Happy Crocheting!

This is great CAL! I loved that you start with any square of your choosing and then build on it. It has been a great way to learn new stitches (love the star stitch) and use up stash!

This is so pretty and I love all of the colors. I found this link party from visiting my sweet blogging sister Teresa Kasner. I am having so much fun seeing all the beautiful work and really wish that I would have paid more attention when my mother was teaching me to crochet . . . oh so many, many years ago.
