I am a member of Ravelry’s Red Heart Lovers Group and January’s KAL/CAL was to make any cowl you wanted. I love these monthly KAL/CALs as they are usually small, quick projects that allow you to learn a new stitch or make something out of your comfort zone.
I have been staring at Tin Can Knits Wheat Scarf for quite some time and decided to use that pattern for my cowl.
A nice easy pattern for a new knitter, I can say I only made one mistake. Since I don’t know how to fix knitting mistakes yet, I did the best I could to fake a solution and I think I did a pretty good job! Now notice I said I only made one mistake. There was a time, right at the end, that I caught my 2 year old Miss ME playing “drums” with my knitting needles. The panic of seeing her doing that…I don’t know how to correctly put my stitches back on the needle. Sigh. So, there is a row that is a little wonky.
I really enjoyed making the cowl!
I knitted until I ran out of yarn (using up some stash yarn) and added some buttons and Tahhh-dahhh:
Next CAL is Melody’s Makings Mini Mystery Create-A-Long starting 1/11/16 and continuing for 4 weeks.
Happy Knitting & Crocheting!
