I am currently joining Melody’s-Makings Mini Create-A-Long. A short two week mystery crochet and knit along.
There is a Ravelry group where tips and help are posted along with people’s pictures of their works in progress.
For all my CAL/KAL’s this year, I am hoping to use only stash yarn.
For this project (which called for bulky #5 yarn), I am using Lion Brand Tweed Stripes and a ChiaoGoo 6mm bamboo hook. Our local Ocean State Job Lot has had a lot of Lion Brand yarn in stock and I built up my stash with many colors of Tweed Stripes and Jiffy.
Here is my project, clues one and two completed:
(Spoiler Alert)
I think its safe to say this is going to be a hat!
If I like it, I’ll make one for my daughter too. If it is not my style, it will be up for grabs or donated to Winter Warmers via my crochet group-Fishnet Crocheters.
I am currently working on a few things and I have to say, I quite love when I return to the project using my Furls Odyssey hook. I think I am becoming spoiled with these hooks (I know what I’ll be asking for my birthday!).
Happy Crocheting!

It’s looking lovely!! Love the way the tweed stripes is working up.

Have you found the Furls Odyssey hook to help reduce wrist strain?

I do feel that way. I really notice a difference when I go back and forth between the Furls and the bamboo or metal hooks. The Furls Odyssey is a heavier hook, but the weight is nicely distributed and feels good in my hand. I like that they are not crazy expensive like the wood ones, just sort of expensive (reasonable to ask for as a gift or something).
