Last week I started The Good House, but I had to quickly stop.
Early on in the book, the narrator relays a story about a situation with a special needs child.
It hit way too close to home and I actually felt as though I was going to throw up.
My day to day life is hard enough, I use reading as an escape.
This book was not an escape.
Most everyone I know loved this book, so I would suggest people check it out.
Luckily, I had a pile of library books on my bedside table.
Heartburn by Nora Ephron was the first thing I picked up.
I just adore Nora Ephron and enjoyed this quick read.
Next up, I am going to try The Zig Zag Girl by Elly Griffiths.
I like her Ruth Galloway series, so I thought I’d give this a try.
My son was home sick from day camp this week.
While he napped off and on in my bed, I read and worked on my Southern Diamonds Wrap.
I chose the small size and wish I had made it longer (I plan on using it as a scarf).
I am going to add on some length on either end using my copy of The Complete Book of Crochet Stitch Designs (a present from my SIL).
Right now, I plan on using design #198 (fantail shells) to add several inches to the wrap.
Happy Reading & Crafting!
Joining Ginny’s Yarn Along. (Check it out, great book recommendations)
I hope your son is doing better today.
