This week, my project included felting!
My friend has been making these great, felted tote bags and is now making a Japanese knot bag (on my Ravelry list of many projects to do).
I decided to make a small, felted project bag.
I chose to make Puk Vossen’s Mortarde tas bag (free pattern on Ravelry).
My color choice was inspired by Ravelry member Mellifico’s bag.
I used Patons Classic Worsted Wool in Sunset Gold and Cream.
Due to my newness at knitting, where I picked up stitches (to start knitting in the round) was rather sloppy.
So, I chose to do a reverse single crochet all around the seam (otherwise known as the crab stitch).
Where I casted on for the handles was a little loose, but the felting helped that tremendously.
On cycle in the washing machine, with some towels and it was done!
It is ADORABLE!
This is perfect size for when I actually attempt to make socks!
Next felted project will be k knits felted knot bag (free pattern on Ravelry)
Today was also my second week of a five week sewing 100 class I am taking.
Last week we learned all about the machines.
This week, we cut our fabric for our first project-a small pillow.
This will be a pillow for Miss ME.
Our second project will be a tote bag.
Have a good week!

Oh, super cool! I like how your felted bag came out. I really like the yellow with the white. And awesome you’re taking sewing classes. Is this on Craftsy?

I love your felted bag. Felting is such fun (and hides any errors which is an extra bonus!)

Love the felted bag and your yellow and white color scheme is delightful. So Spring like…reminds me of the daffodils. Working on a felted project would be great for me as it would hide all my mistakes….hopefully! I made some felted oven mitts that were on Purl Soho several years back and I still use them. I need to make another pair and that bag!
I have the sewing bug and it has been awhile for me but I am starting to make a quilt for my bed as there is a tutorial and QAL being started over on Brooklyn Knitfolk and I need a new quilt for my bed. Lucky you to have classes nearby. I truly always love your projects! Thank you for the inspiration…I really needed it this week!
