Yarn Along

Unfortunately, I made absolutely no progress on The Curious Charms of Arthur Pepper.

However, I did listen to Turbo Twenty-Three (Stephanie Plum #23) on my commute this week.

I know that people think I’m nuts when they look over and see me laughing hysterically.

The narrator, Lorelai King, is AWESOME!!

Totally made my long commute times this week bearable.

Not sure how I’ll survive tomorrow’s commute since I finished listening to this today.

My project this week involves vintage machines and charm packs!

I found a working Necchi Supernova sewing machine at a yard sale for $20.00.

It seems it is a machine (made in Italy) from 1948-1956.

Today, I cleaned it, wound the bobbin and started sewing!

I need a sewing machine mat for this machine as it must have been originally in a cabinet, so there is no base.

I have become obsessed with Jenny from the Missouri Star Quilt Company.

I love her tutorials and her personality.

I recently ordered some charm packs and jelly rolls from the company.

I used Les Fleurs Charm pack to throw together a mat.

I certainly need work on lining up seams and making mitered corners, but it works for now!

I plan on using MSQC’s “Quilt in a Box” to learn how to make a quilt.

Hope you are all having a good week!

Thank you! I liked the vintage look too! Of course, now I look closely and realize it’s upside down in the picture.
I plan on using the same charm pack to make a runner for Miss MEs dresser 🙂
Can’t wait to see your next project!

The Curious Charms of Arthur Pepper is next up for me to read, it’s sitting on the hold shelf at the library for me 🙂

Your sewing machine is so pretty, I just love the look! Good luck learning quilting! I have always wanted a quilt that I made myself… someday!
