This week I am reading The Alice Network by Kate Quinn.
In an enthralling new historical novel from national bestselling author Kate Quinn, two women—a female spy recruited to the real-life Alice Network in France during World War I and an unconventional American socialite searching for her cousin in 1947—are brought together in a mesmerizing story of courage and redemption.

I had a gift card to Barnes & Noble and this was on sale.
I always read the first few pages in the store or library to see if the story somehow hooks me.
This is the line that hooked me (Charlie speaking about her mother):
I was only three months gone, but she wasn’t taking any chances that my shape might announce what a whore she’d brought into the world.
Ding, Ding, Ding, we have a winner!
I’m only 75 pages in, but can’t wait to read tonight after the kids go to bed.
My project this week is One Dog Woof’s Easy Knit Caralunya Colorblock Poncho.
I love her designs and have been wanting to try Lion Brand Yarn Fast Track for a while and this was the perfect project.
Craftsy was having a free shipping day, so I took advantage and ordered Fast Track in Mustard, White and Gray.
I am zipping along!
I am now onto the white section and hope to move to gray in this week.

Happy Reading!
That book sounds great – I love it and I find a book I really want to stop everything to read!
And I’m looking forward to seeing your finished poncho. Mindless projects are the best.
