A Productive Week!

This was a productive week!

I finished my hat made from Quince & Co. yarn.

A simple hat using simple knit and purl rows (inspired by a store bought hat a friend wore over the winter).

I finally found a hat that my purple Lion Brand fur pompom worked with!

This hat is for me 😉

I also finished these two hats:

Originally both were for the charity box, but my daughter claimed the striped one.

I used left over Caron Cake, having separated and wound the colors so I could make stripes.

I’m debating putting two pompoms on the corners, but it does look cute on her just the way it is.

The top hat is a stash buster.

I used Lion Brand Thick & Quick.

I know other bloggers rave about this yarn, not me.

I love how it makes seriously quick hats, but I don’t think the texture is pleasant to wear.

This yarn has been in my closet for a long time, I’m glad I was able to use it up.

I won’t be purchasing any more.

My last project of the week is one that changed uses completely.

I saw this Missouri Star Quilt tutorial (made with Craft Gemini) decided I wanted to make a tote bag using the Bosal foam (purchased via Amazon).

I chose to make stripes rather than a random design.

I liked working with the Bosal foam, easy to sew with and it makes a nice, structured bag.

After I finished the outer bag, I left it sitting by my sewing table.

As I kept walking past it over the next few days, I decided I really didn’t need another tote bag (or, I should say I really need one that is the perfect size, structure, etc. for work and this wasn’t right).

What to do?

Turns out, it is the perfect size to hold my sewing patterns!

I folded the bag in on itself and now I have a structured bin to hold the patterns.

This project went from “blah” to perfect!

It fits perfectly on top of my bookcase.

I hope you all have a great week!

The purple pom pom makes that hat. I think the striped hat is so cute and can see why your daughter claimed it. You amaze me with your sewing. What a great way to turn a lemon into lemonade. You are the first person I ave ever heard say they didn’t need another tote lol.

There are many commercial yarns that I do love and use over and over for blankets and hats-mainly items that are going to be washed a lot . My yarn tastes are becoming more expensive though! The bosal foam was easy to work with and provides nice structure!
