I made pajama bottoms!
Long ago, I purchases Craftsy.com’s Learn To Sew Pajama Pants and I finally did the class.
I purchased enough fabric to make three pairs (my favorite pajama bottoms are literally falling apart and it is time for new ones).
All similar pattern, just different colors (sort of a vintage 40’s pattern).
(The above picture is the most accurate representation of the color)
This first pair, I went super simple…no added contrast cuffs and no alterations.
I like bottoms very loose so I chose to make XL.
They are super loose in the thigh (although, I like that) and fit well at the waist with the elastic.
Luckily, I had the correct elastic in my stash of notions (learned something new, I thought all elastic was the same and now I know what is better for this type of project).
The teacher was awesome and the explanations/instructions were clear and concise.
For my next pair, I plan on either making a XL and altering my seams to make them a tad smaller, or biting the bullet and trying a L.
I also plan on making contrasting cuffs.
I have a feeling I am going to have an entire drawer of new pajama bottoms!
Have a great weekend!

It’s my plan to make PJ bottoms for my crew once I get the chemo beanie done. I had to look go through five disappointments of finding out a pattern was out of stock before I found the sixth one I had looked up! It’s PJ making season. Is this fabric cotton or flannel?

This is cotton from Joann’s. I loved the vintage look. Joann’s is having a pattern sale too, so I just purchased some other pj patterns. I also have flannel to make myself a new robe….plans, plans, plans! I’d love to know which pattern you end up using!

I took a look at the McCall’s pattern and found it was only for kids! The front is mislead because it shows the whole family in pajamas and the back has the measurements for adults. So I have to find one for adults. This McCall’s pattern was my sixth try at trying to find one. All the Simplicity and Butterwick were out of stock. I may just order online.

I just bought a simplicity pattern. I’ll be curious how much easier or difficult it is than the one I used.
