I finished my Christmas Tree Skirt in the nick of time!
I found this pattern at Missouri Star Quilt Co. and fell in love with it.
I purchased it and the fabric needed a long time ago.
I have no idea why I didn’t start this well before December, but I waited and then it was down to the wire.
I laid out my pattern to make sure I didn’t have any squares repeating (although, no matter how careful I tried to be, I did have a repeat of a blue square).
I did well sewing the borders and trimming the corners.
The quilting was quickly done, just straight lines-nothing fancy.
My problem was the binding.
I went with cutting 3 inch strips (pattern calls for 2 1/4) and started doing the binding yesterday.
I’ve have gained confidence binding quilts, straight lines with 90 degree corners.
This has angles and circles.
Soooooo, my binding is a little wonky 😉
However, I don’t mind.
I originally had a white and red striped binding fabric, but I felt it detracted from my lovely red and white horse boarder.
I used the red from the backing and am happy with my choice.
The finished skirt is a little big for our space, but I am so pleased with it!
It will be nice to have something we will put underneath the tree for years to come!
I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas Eve and Christmas Day!
Thank you to Missouri Star Quilt Co. for reposting my image on IG and the lovely comments.
