When we moved into this house, we painted our dining room a lovely teal color.
It was perfect for a dining room.
Problem was, we never used the dinning room except for Christmas Eve dinner.
So, the dining room became my sewing room.
Dining room table became my sewing table.
Then we decided to sell the dining room table.
More room to contain all my “stuff”.
However, it was so dark…it always felt cluttered and I really didn’t enjoy being in there (except for the fact that it was in one place-instead of spread all over the house).
A rug I had been watching on Wayfair was back in stock and I purchased it for our living room.
I love it!
I still loved our old rug.
What to do??
DIY!
After school vacation, I decided to take my day off and paint.
Hello Sherwin Williams Repose Gray!
Bye Bye Teal! (see my new backsplash in the kitchen? I love that too!)
I went to the Dollar Store and purchased new frames for the pictures in the above picture (prints by Katie Daisy).
While there, I found bins for my yarn and containers for my needles and crochet hooks.
With paint, supplies and Dollar Store purchases I spent $90.00.
I used the paper found in the frames to map out the location on the wall (along with a mark where the hook was to be found…easy to nail it and rip it away).
I need to go back and see if there are 3 more bins for the books.
I still have some organizing to do, but I really love it!
It is calming and will be a fun place to sit and sew!

Wow!!!!!!! What a difference. Who knew paint and a few dollar store supplies could make such a difference. You will be in there quite a bit now, making lovely items.

While I love teal, I understand why you wanted to choose another color. This beige looks great and you’re so lucky to have your own craft room. I have to wait til a child moves out.

Lol! My husband is just so happy that things are contained in one room! I our next house years from now, we will hopefully have a room or basement I can convert.
