Two friends have new additions to their families!
A baby boy has arrived and a sweet boy has been adopted.
Not having time to crochet or knit presents, I sewed some quick blankets.
A little something to say “Welcome”!
Using flannel and fleece I already had in my stash, I made a cute train blanket for the new baby and a cute alphabet/baseball blanket for the three year old.
Both are backed with white fleece and are soft and cozy.
Love having a hobby that allows for quick presents.
Have a good week!
Quick presents are great, and I’m sure these will be loved

How wonderful that you could whip these blankets up so quickly, Ali. The prints look perfect for the ages of the boys.

Can fleece be cut with pinking shears like how cotton can? Blankets are always needed for babies. Great presents you made.

I do cut my fleece with pinking shears, thinking that that will help save the edge. However, the edges are encased in the blanket and then top stitched so I’m not to concerned about fraying in the wash. My kids fleece blankets have been washed several times with no issues. 🙂

So sweet and the fabrics are precious. Best wishes to the new parents. How big do you make them? Did you have instructions or are you a creative sewist now? BTW, I am really enjoying the Hitch Hiker shawl thanks to you!

Thank you! I saw you restarted your hitch hiker, hope it is going well.
The baseball blanket I believe was lap size and the baby one was stroller size.

I have some fleece that needs to be used, I like the idea of it being matched with flannel. Thanks for the inspiration. I know these will get lots of love from the new additions.

Thank you! It was easier to sew also rather than two pieces of fleece.
