It has been a slow crafting week.
Instead, I’ve been doing a great deal of work outside mulching, planting, playing in the sunshine with the kids and reading on the deck.
It has been nice to be outside.
I have been slowly adding to my Faux Fair Isle Poncho each night though.
I decided to stash bust rather than buying the navy color shown in the pattern picture.
Instead, I am using some Vanna’s Choice gray and I think it looks nice with the Red Heart Derby Fair Isle.
This has been a good “tv watching” project.
Although I may have made a couple of increases incorrectly-scooping up the bar from back to front rather than front to back.
Thats what happens with a “don’t think too hard” project.
However, it really doesn’t bother me as this will be worn mostly around the house/yard in the cooler weather.
I am 6 rounds into 13 for the gray, then it will be several rounds of a rib edge.
Friday morning will be all about turning the heel on my second sock for the Marly Bird KAL.
Have a great week/weekend!
You’re making good progress. I admire how you’re planting and working away in your garden. I’m slowly coming back to knitting, trying to do a little here and there in the car.

Many projects have been lingering as I work to make our outside look nice 🙂

I like your gray better than the navy. I have lots of yard work to do still. It’s already getting into the 90’s here…..too hot! Enjoy your outdoor activities and congrats on your socks!

Thank you! I think the gray looks nice too! I’m working to get all the outside work done before we hit the 90’s…once that happens, I sit and relax 😉

I agree with you, the grey is nicer. I can manage socks but I am a bit intimidated by other bigger/trickier knitting projects. I need to branch out a bit.

Funny, I was too intimidated by socks and only did large projects (scarf, blanket, etc). It took a lot to make a hat and then move on to socks 🙂

Oh yes, I was hugely intimidated too for a long time. But also determined to learn. I like crochet better because it grows more quickly and I’m much more confident with it. Knitting in general is more of a challenge!!
