As we enter 2019, I have made a decision to try to de-stress my life (note the “try”).
One way of doing this is to not feel stressed about finishing projects just to have things to blog about.
Not that I did this before, but as my knitting and sewing skills improve, I am picking harder more complicated projects that will take much longer to complete.
Think, clothing, color work knitting, etc.
I will still do what I call “palette cleanser” projects while working on these bigger projects.
So, my first slow project of 2019 is Drea Renee Knits Nightshift Shawl!
Using all stash yarn, I am currently on section six.
I am loving this project!
My friend is also doing this and it’s so great to see how different our shawls are looking.
While working on this project, my “palette cleanser” was an adorable hat found free on Ravelry- Perky Little Hat.
I knit this hat in no time (I think with stops and starts maybe an hour total).
I used stash Ella Rae Seasons yarn that I purchased in 2015 and due to it not being super bulky, I cast on 50 instead of 40 and added three additional rows before decreasing.
So, with this slow crafting, I won’t be posting as often (maybe once a week now), but am still pretty active on Instagram posting update pictures.
Feel free to follow me there, MrsMcD918.
Have a great week!
The shawl is lovely but the hat has my heart. You post as often as you see fit. I for one, love your posts and enjoy seeing what new things have caught your attention. Thanks for the instagram name. I will start following you there too.

That little beanie is cute; it has interesting stitch details. How fun for you to knit the shawl along with a friend.

Thanks! The slant is simply yo K2tog. Makes such a cute detail! I can’t wait to get a picture of our two shawls-they are so different! Two more friends are going to make it too!
