Good morning!
I have added several magic balls to my stash buster granny afghan.
There is absolutely no thought into the order of the colors, totally random as I find quarter and half skeins in my stash.
I find it fun to change color and remember what project I made.
I have also started a pair of socks for Miss Mary.
Using a free pattern from Tin Can Knits-Rye Light, 5″ 2.5mm DPNs and Patons Kroy sock yarn.
I am on sock #1 and am up to the heel turn.
These are a great project to take to Mary’s Karate classes.
Notice I’m using my recently made project bag.
Initially I wasn’t thrilled with this bag, but I got rid of the chop sticks and made a draw string closure instead.
Now, I love the bag!
Perfect size for a sock knitting project and perfect size to fit in my purse.
I did finish my worsted toe up socks, unfortunately my bind off was too tight so they are unwearable 😢
However, no project is a loss.
I learned Judy’s Magic Cast on and how to do an afterthought heel!
I am also on section 10 of my Nightshift Shawl-THE LAST SECTION before the bind off!!
So excited to be nearing the end!
Have a great week!
Glad you were able to find a fix for your bag. I just read the post about it…you gotta laugh, what else could go wrong? I’m decided what I’m going to do with all my left over and partial skeins..

Great idea on the project bag. With the draw string, you won’t need to worry about things falling out either. That afghan is beautiful. How much fun to have something that brings memories of good times. Mary is going to have a lovely sock soon. What a fun yarn for the sock too.

I think a drawstring is much more yarn friendly than chopsticks. Your Granny afghan is lookin good and fun. It’ll be fun to see Miss Mary in her photo shoot for her socks when they’re finished.

The chop sticks are a cute look but this way is much more practical 👍 I hope Mary likes them when I’m done 😳

Can’t you undo the cast off and redo it looser? I have done that (more than once) . I love making things out of my leftovers – memory projects! Your bag is gorgeous and good for you for changing it up to be more practical for you.

Why I wove in my ends before trying them on I’ll never know. I’ll see if I can fix the bind off, I really would like to wear them 😊

If you have yarn left then I hope you can fix the cast off edge of your socks. I can’t imagine a project bag with chopsticks as handles, all mine are drawstring which seems best. I did Judy’s magic cast on once and managed to knit the wrong way so in was smooth inside and bumps outside lol

I will certainly need to watch a video if I ever do toe up again. The cast on took me a few tries!

The Afghan is looking gorgeous, I love the randomness of it. And Miss Mary’s socks are goin to be fab. I know it’s a pain, but even if you have no yarn left over, just take the socks back through the cast off and last round, then you should have enough for a stretchy bind off.

I love how your scrap buster magic ball granny afghan is coming along. It’s beautiful. I want to make something similar, but I can’t even imagine it being so cool looking as yours – and the color line ups are all random?!? That’s just amazing.
