Projects on Repeat

Last Saturday it was Little Yarn Shop Day.

My roommate from college and I met for lunch and some yarn shopping.

We had lunch at an adorable French Bistro and had a nice “catch up on our lives” lunch.

Then we went to a local yarn shop named Craftworks (where I took a class with The Shibaguyz in 2015).

It’s local to us in that it is halfway between our houses.

While there I saw a sample for an adorable cropped cardigan.

I purchased the pattern and the yarn.

(Plus enough yarn for a second cardigan in a different color way).

My friend bought some yarn to make a Purl Soho cowl pattern and some beautiful fingering yarn to make a shawl.

It was a lovely day ❤️

So, of course we both need a new project bag.

For these bags, I remembered to box the corners before sewing the lining shut!

That was a win!

For my friends bag, I used a 14 inch zipper and made 4 inch boxed corners.

Hers turned out pretty darn good!

I boxed it up to ship before taking a picture though.

For mine, I used a 16 inch stash zipper in blue and made 5 inch boxed corners.

My zipper on this on is a tad askew, but it works so it also is a win 😉

Big enough to fit the pattern and four skeins of yarn.

Once again I had fun stitching on my vintage machine-I’m not in any rush to spend money on a new machine.

Actually, on June 29th I’m taking a class at my sewing studio to learn how to clean and service your old machines-should be fun!

The other news is that Miss Mary graduated to a yellow belt in karate this weekend 😊

She had a big cheering section and did so great performing the exercises for the crowd!

Have a great week!

How awesome for Miss Mary; she is such a joy. I like the looks of your tweed. I’ve used Plymouth before for baby blankets; they’re a good workhorse.
