A while back I was at a LYS and fell in love with Plymouth Yarn Encore Dynamo color 041.
A combination of grays, oranges and greens.
Not everyone’s cup of tea, but I love it.
I decided to make a free pattern from Lion Brand Yarn, a cropped raglan cardigan.
Very Pink Knits has a free video tutorial for this pattern.
I cast on and have been knitting this cardigan here and there.
I love how the stripes look.
This is a straight forward pattern and has been easy to knit.
I really thought I’d have pictures of the finished cardigan for this post, but…
I finished knitting the right front band and it was terrible.
It was pulling the top and bottom of the cardigan in towards the middle.
So, rip, rip, rip.
The good news is that I was able to see the rib and think 10 rows is too many for my taste.
When I redo it, I may bind off after five rows.
After completing this (hopefully this week), I would like to start a pullover- maybe Tin Can Knits Flax?
Have a good week!
The yarn suits the pattern perfectly. I have never done a button band before. I will be doing one shortly so any tips you have will be welcomed.

Luckily, this is just a band, no button holes 🥴

The colours are really pretty. Sometimes ( especially if a tight or newish knitter) it is worth trying button bands on a slightly larger needle, 0.5 to 1 mm as it can stop the pulling you mentioned. X
